Hello, and welcome to the new SF State college lifestyle and culture blog, The Swamp. Why do we call it The Swamp, you ask? Come’on, isn’t that obvious? It’s where the gators hang.

Maybe you are wondering why Xpress, the campus news organization that already has a newspaper, website, and magazine would bother starting a new blog? Well, as you probably already know, sometimes things happen in college that just aren’t quite fit to splash on the front of the respected campus newspaper (at least that’s what my editors keep telling me). The Swamp is the place for all those truths to bubble up to the surface. It’s a place where we can use our highly educated minds to dive deep into the murky depths of the college lifestyle and wrestle with some bottom-dwelling topics. It’s a place where we can professionally discuss the unprofessional. A place where we can let out of stinky opinions. But most of all, it’s a place that’s going to be a whole hell of a lot of fun to read.
